Banana Republic, the popular clothing retailer, offers a 10% discount to both students and teachers with valid ID. The discount is good for in-store purchases only, and restrictions apply.
What can you get with the Banana Republic discount?
Banana Republic is unique among clothing retailers in that if offers discounts to both students and teachers in any of its 500 stores nationwide. The policy doesn’t specify, but we assume students and teachers from all types of schools qualify, from k-12 through college.
The 10% discount comes with the following restrictions:
- In-store purchases only. Not valid for online purchases.
- U.S. and Canada stores only. International Banana Republic locations are not eligible. Nor is the discount applicable at Banana Republic Factory Stores
- Merchandise Only. You can’t buy a gift card with your discount.
- Can’t be combined with other offers. Nope, none.

How to qualify for the Banana Republic Student and Teacher Discount
To claim your 10% discount, simply show your valid school ID at the register when checking out. This applies to both teachers and students.
Tip #1: If a parent is paying for the student, you may still qualify for the discount if the student shows an ID.
Tip #2: If the cashier isn’t familiar with the discount, ask them to enter code EDU15 into their checkout terminal.
Interesting factoid: When Banana Republic opened their first California store in 1978, they were known for their safari-themed clothing.
