Interresting Facts about Levi Strauss & Co.

Levi’s is one of the older fashion retailers operating today. It was founded all the way back in 1853 in San Fransisco.

Originally the company only sold bolts of cloth. They found their fortune when they started adding copper rivets to jeans to reinforce worn out stress points. The original 501 jeans were working-man’s clothes, and weren’t considered “cool” until the dude ranch fad of the 1930s. From the 1950s on popularity grew until it seemed that nearly everyone owned a pair of Levi’s jeans.
